So, as you've probably all noticed I have been a slacker lately when it comes to updating my blog... so, let me give you the run down on what's been going on lately.
First off Ki and I went to Cali to visit my mom and dad. My sister April and her two little girls were there, Quoia and Miri. It was my first time meeting Miri. So cute! I hadn't seen my sister in over a year so it was really good to see her again. Kiley and Quoia had so much fun together. We went to the beach (which I can never get enough of), we got Mexican food, hung out with the fam, hung out with the Towners, Sheila took us to the Wild Animal Park (which has completely changed since I last went there, it was awesome.) My friend Michelle had her baby shower, I got to visit with my friend Emily, and just enjoy time with everyone. The flight went great on the way there, but not so great on the way back. LOL. But I kept up my training while I was there and my Dad even joined me on some of my runs.

When we got home it took a couple of days to get back in the groove of things. Kiley had gotten really sick with pneumonia in Cali right before we left. We had to go to the hospital and I believe she gave it to Adam, sorry about that.=). Then when we got home I was having severe abdominal pain for about 6 days, it was so bad I didn't sleep a wink for three of those six days, not till the ER gave me some vicodin. They did all kinds of tests and every doctor said it was something different, from an ovarian cyst erupting, to appendicitis to a possible miscarriage. I guess we'll never know, because the pain just stopped one day. But the good news is we are all doing great now. I was out of training for a week because of the abdominal pain, but once it stopped I got back to it and started right where I left off.
This past Sunday was the Flying Pig Marathon Event. For the last eight weeks I have been training for the half marathon that Toyota was sponsoring me for. We woke up at 4:30am to the sound of thunder, lightning and the pouring of rain. But rain or shine, I trained too hard to miss this. By the time we got there the lightning was letting up so they started the race. Within 30 seconds of running my shoes were filled with water. It poured the entire race and Christian and Kiley got completely drenched while cheering me on. I was just praying that I wouldn't slip and fall because there were at least 9,000 people coming up behind me. I can be a real klutz sometimes. LOL.
It was hard, but I kept my pace and got through it in 2hrs 10minutes, bloody feet, blisters and all. It was so worth it! Now I just need a good massage. LOL. Next year I want to do the full Marathon. So bring it on!

I am glad you, Kiley, and Adam are feeling much better! What a scare for you!! I can't believe you did a half marathon!!! You are awesome girl!! =)
ReplyDeleteHoley Moley! Way to go! I can't believe you want to do a full one. Not because I don't think you can, but just because the mere thought of a half marathon makes me want to pass out! Wow! You rock!
