"Rrrrrrrr Mattee!"

Lately Kiley's new thing is pirates.  She watches Jake and the Never Land Pirates on the Disney channel almost every morning. LOL.  And today she wanted to be a pirate and have her own "ship to command."  So we did the best we could with the materials on hand.  LOL.  She said that it had to have a flag and a "ring bell."  Not exactly sure what she was expecting, but that's the great thing about kids (at least when they are little), anything will do if you are excited about it. LOL. (Notice our small salvation army ring bell. LOL).

Well, when Christian saw my pirate ship creation he laughed and said, "It's a what?"  Okay, so it's like a dinghy, but I tried.  I've never made a ship before.  I always made forts where the blankets were on top of the chairs and stuff.

So, as you might expect Christian came in to save the day and make her a "real" pirate ship.  I'll admit, his creation is far better than my dinghy.  LOL.

I love that Kiley has such a wonderful imagination! I remember the joy of making forts with blankets and chairs. It's so fun to be a kid. (Believe it or not her pose below was all her own. I asked her to give me a pirate pose and this is what she gave me. LOL.)

"I Hightailed It!"

Anxious, nervous, excited, prepared??
Pumped, energetic, thrilled but not scared.
Hill after hill I climbed to the top.
Finished first? No, but I didn't stop.
Pain in my legs, back, feet and toes.
"How will I get there?" "Heaven only knows".
Crossing the finish, a sigh of relief.
"I did it, I did it!" Still in disbelief.

Today marked the day of my second half marathon.  It was much harder to prepare for this one with only three months since Rowen was born and Christian's crazy work schedule.  But I did it and I was only five minutes off from my last time.  I was hoping to be able to do the full marathon but with only three months to train it just wasn't realistic for me.  So, I can't cross that off my list yet but hopefully soon.  Very soon!
